Ubuntu Review 2022. Being a standard release Ubuntu 2010 has only nine months of support until July 2021. Canonicals Brian Murray recently published a draft release schedule for the upcoming Ubuntu 2204 LTS operating system release currently set for a final release date in late April 2022. Backing closes July 2022 and the recommend upgrade path will be to Ubuntu 2204 LTS.

With Ubuntu 2004 LTS released in April 2020 the version that starts this new development cycle is Ubuntu 2010 which came out on 22 October 2020. Ubuntu is a complete desktop Linux operating system freely available with both community and professional support. While Canonical is still working hard to finish the last details of the forthcoming Ubuntu 2110.

In Ubuntu 2004 and later the command ubuntu-support-status has been replaced by the ubuntu-security-status. This release is the first step towards Ubuntu 2204 the next LTS due out in April 2022.
